Hello all,

Tomorrow morning I am hitting the road to Boston to go pick up this beauty. By that I mean I will get on a smelly bus that will barrel up I-95 at a pace that bridges the gap between death wish and fun.

I thought I might share with everyone this little adventure of mine and I will sure be posting a lot about this vehicle. I would love to hear from any B5 S4 owners to know how they like it. I personally am very excited to get the new longroof in my hands. I have some high hopes for the future of the car, Id like to take it to a track day here and there and certainly do some winter hoonage.

The car is a 2001 Audi S4 Avant in silver. Black interior with wood and a 6 speed.

Your thoughts?

Very cool. A buddy of mine has owned one (Nogaru Blue, of course) since new. Now it has over 200k miles. It’s an Avant with the 6-speed and sport package - a combination one dealer said wasn’t even available in this country. Very cool car.

Much to my annoyance, B5 S4 prices are sky rocketing here in the UK. Good ones would go for less than £2K a few years but now properly shit ones are being prices at £5K+. It’s getting to the point that if you want a good S4, you might as well buy a RS4.

I loved mine almost as much it loved emptying my wallet. They’re awesome but be prepared to repair things. The one you posted a pic of is RHD? Not the actual one you’re buying right?

Wish we could buy a B5 RS4 here. Only RS4 we ever got was the B7 sedan

Plenty of sport package 6 speed avants here. Overall they’re rare since only about 1500 avants were sold in the 2 years they were available. That combination is the most desirable among enthusiasts though.

What qualifies as stupid mods? I ask because the “stage 3” (basically RS4 spec) cars are more reliable than their stock counterparts. The K03 turbos that came on them will blow, some quicker than others, but it is an eventuality.

Yeah Doug thats just a stock photo that is nice and pretty, it helps me justify this massive expenditure... I live in NYC, come on up to the fun part of the Tri-State to have some fun with it!

I actually have no intentions to modify it, I want to keep it stock. I love the look of the car as it is. So you wont hate me!

Mainly exactly what JQJ says — stupid decals, plastidip, stance, wheels, removing the front bumper to fit giant intercooler, cut the springs, etc etc etc.

So many B5 S4 sedans have been subjected to this, and it’s sad.

Late to the post, but that’s fucking awesome. Great car, absolutely love those. I’ve got a 2.7t A6 currently with a six speed, the 2.7t is an excellent engine.
